A 4 year old's perspective on the Christmas Story.

| | Comments ()

Today at Church we did a "birthday party for Jesus" with the pre-school and elementary kids.

We had a new student, about 4 years old.

My wife told the Christmas story with big pauses that the kids could enthusiastically fill in. After wrapping the baby up she placed him in a .... MANGER The wise men where guided by a.... STAR

At the end she complimented the kids on their strong grasp of the Christmas story.

The new kid raised his hand. After being called apon, he explained in his 4 year old dialect that we had it all wrong, and that the Christmas story was about a little boy named Ralphie who really wanted a BB gun, but his parent didn't want him to put his eye out.

Compounding the humor was that Andee didn't really have a clue what the kid was saying and politely thanked him for his participation.. She only understood several hours later when I translated the story for her.
